School Completion Programme

SCP & the Role of Sport in St. Louise’s

Since early 2003 the School Completion Programme (SCP) has enhanced the sports and recreational activities in the school with the introduction of after school basketball and football clubs for all children from 1st – 6th classes.  There has also been strong partnership with local community youth services and sports clubs, including pupils from St. Louise’s participating in an after school programme run with Cherry Orchard Youth Service in the Equine Centre, concentrating on youth work and horse riding. SCP also collaborates with Ballyfermot Youth Service to offer a homework club twice weekly in the BLCO for the 5th and 6th class girls.

We have also developed a strong relationship with De Le Salle GAA and Gaelic football is delivered weekly during PE time by the club.

SCP has been running sports-based summer camps with Mary Queen of Angels and we utilise the fantastic green space available outside St. Louise’s to host these camps. These summer camps are the highlight of our year and a celebration of all the hard work completed during the academic year.
