October is the month for the D10 Be Well initiative to promote mental well-being and care amongst our pupils. Some events are aimed at children and others at parents. Activities for young people include: Jigsaw school talks “It’s Time to Start Talking” on Tuesday 3rd & Wednesday 4th, FAI football challenge on Wednesday 18th October at 10:30 – 12:30 in Cherry Orchard Football Club, a screening of a film in the library for 10 – 12 year olds on Wednesday 18th from 5-7pm and the Halloween Fun Run in Markievicz Park on 31st October.
Relevant upcoming talks for parents include: Pieta House Drop In Advice Clinic on Wednesday 18th October from 1:30 – 3pm in Ballyfermot Resource Centre and Helping Children Who Worry Too Much – a talk presented by Dr. Paula Cummins, Psychologist in Ballyfermot Library on Wednesday 25th October from 10:30 – 12:30pm. An Introduction to Aromatherapy for Self-care and Wellbeingwill take place in The Bungalow on Thursday 26th from 10am – 12:30pm. Hope you can make some of the events.
