Dear Parent / Guardian,

School will officially close today (Friday 26^th June) for the school year. What an extraordinary school year it was! I would like to thank you sincerely for your engagement with the padlet since the schools closed on the 12^th March. While the Covid-19 pandemic proved a very challenging time both personally and professionally for all of us, it was lovely to see how well the pupils participated in distance learning.

We would like to say a special farewell to our 6^th class girls and 1^st class boys, who are leaving us for new schools. It was with much regret that we could not hold a face to face graduation ceremony for them but our school insurance would not cover such an event. We would like to wish them well for the future and thank them for the fantastic contribution they made to life in St. Louise’s over the last number of years.

The school is still awaiting guidance on what the return to school in September might look like, but as Minister McHugh outlined, he is hoping schools will reopen for all pupils in September. We are working on this presumption and will provisionally open on Tuesday 1^st September, unless we receive guidance to the contrary. You will receive communication from the school the last week in August confirming the arrangements. At the moment the calendar for the school year 2020/2021 has not been decided due to the high level of uncertainty still existing with regards to the reopening of schools – this will be completed in early September and shared with you.

You will receive information via email or text next week on how to pay the €25 school requisites fee for your child.
